Shirakawago – World Heritage of Japanese Style Village
April 14, 2016
Shirakawago is a village with old style houses. It is acknowledged as one of the World Heritage, surrounded by mountains in Gifu prefecture, just in the center of Japan. Its feature is houses with a rafter roof (a construction method used in architecture in which a principal rafter is used in the roof, called 'gassho-zukuri') and those were built over 200 years ago. Its view is amazing and there are many tourists visiting throughout the year.
City like Tokyo looks same in many countries, but once you visit village, you will find country’s culture which you would not find in cities. Let’ visit villages!! Yeah!
